About Baylor’s Sports Strategy and Sales (S3) Program and FAQs

S3 Vision

To instill integrity in the business of sports, music and entertainment.

S3 Values

The acronym SIC ‘EM represents Spirit, Integrity, Commitment, Empowerment, and Motivation.

S3 Mission

To faithfully live lives of integrity marked by a strong work ethic to influence and transform relationships in the sports, music and entertainment industry one person at a time.

Why does this championship event exist?

There are more recruiters wanting Baylor S3 graduates than we have students to fill their open positions in the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, NHL, NASCAR and NCAA teams as well as a growing list of music and entertainment companies. This event will help locate top talent who are likely to qualify for entry into Baylor’s S3 program in the Hankamer School of Business. In the process, this championship event helps us reach our vision of instilling integrity into the industry. This is done through a focus on integrity in the competition.

How you can build integrity beyond this competition:

Dr. Henry Cloud defines integrity as the courage to meet the demands of reality. There are several “demands of reality” for top salespeople and leaders in the sports industry. They must have the skillset to communicate professionally, have product knowledge and hit sales targets year after year. However, there are other demands that are just as real, but not as clearly stated. The reality is there is more to being a top salesperson than selling. The difference between good salespeople who can complete the job and the best of the best are those who have their values in order. If you have the courage to meet this demand of reality, see https://sites.baylor.edu/baylors3/integrity/.
