Lyrics/Music: Dunsin Oyekan
Genre: Contemporary
Language: English
Scripture Reference: Romans 12:1-2
Liturgical Uses/ Seasons: Commitment/Response
Themes: Reflecting God’s Glory
The song was conceived first in the Ibo language, which the author did not understand before he later got the interpretation, somebody, to English. The author has demonstrated the love of God from childhood, and one could say it was born from such a close relationship with Jesus. It is to tell believers how significant the presence of Jesus in their life could mean or be. They need to desire Him more daily as no one should be sufficient of his stature in Him.
The Value of my life is a simple song written with good rhyme and poem to discuss what makes a believer a valuable child of God. The rhythm and instrumental arrangement are contemporary, which Youth especially would like. It is used during praise in worship to demonstrate how much we love God and how much of Him we desire. Also, it is used as an extraordinary rendition to tell the church how much of Jesus in their life determines how valuable they are. The church is raptly involved or participates in singing for God to fill them more with the power of the Holy Spirit.
Lyrics
The value of my life
Is how much of You I carry
The impact of my life
Is how much of You people see
The value of my life
Is how much of You I carry
The impact of my life
Is how much of You people see
The value of my life
Is how much of You I carry (The impact of my life)
The impact of my life
Is how much of You people see (The value of my life)
The value of my life
Is how much of You I carry (The impact of this life)
The impact of my life
Is how much of You people see
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Eh, eh…
The value of my life
Is how much of You I carry (The impact of my life)
The impact of my life
Is how much of You people see
The value of my life
Is how much of You I carry
The impact of this life
Is how much of You people see
(Lift your voice, lift your hands and say
I want You)…
Bridge:
Jesus I need You
Just enough is not enough
Just enough won’t be enough
Just enough won’t be enough
Just enough won’t be enough
Just enough won’t be enough
I need You I need You
Fill me up
Just enough is not enough
I want You
