Background: The Baylor Behavioral Medicine Laboratory (PI: Dr. Annie Ginty) is seeking a candidate for a full-time postdoctoral fellow. The laboratory investigates how the brain links psychological experiences, specifically stress, with cognitive, biological, and behavioral changes that matter for health. The laboratory integrates psychophysiological, neuroimaging, neuroendocrine, and epidemiological methods.
Role of Postdoctoral Fellow: The postdoctoral fellow will play a vital role in assisting with an ongoing NIH funded research study examining metabolic, cardiovascular, and neural responses to stress and exercise. Additionally, the postdoctoral fellow will assist with other ongoing projects in the Baylor Behavioral Medicine Laboratory, including analyzing and publishing already collected data, developing new studies, providing support for existing research grants and writing new research grants, and being involved in ongoing community engagement.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have 1.) a Ph.D. (ABD will be considered, but must have PhD prior to starting the position), 2.) research experience in one or more of the following areas: health psychology, clinical health psychology, psychophysiology, biological psychology, sport and exercise psychology, exercise physiology, or behavioral medicine, and 3.) excellent writing skills. Previous experience examining biological responses to psychological stress, metabolic responses to exercise, and/or neuroimaging is preferred.
