Taryn Cook, B.S.

Taryn entered the program and rejoined the Baylor Behavioral Medicine Lab in Fall 2023. She received her B.S. in Neuroscience from Baylor University in 2021, where she was a research assistant in the Baylor Behavioral Medicine Lab. Following graduation, she worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator at the Center for ADHD within Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center. Her current research interests include the relationship between stress and physical and mental health outcomes and physiological mechanisms that may connect stress and these health outcomes. In her spare time, she enjoys playing soccer, listening to podcasts, and reading.

Sarah-Beth Garner, B.A.

Sarah-Beth Garner graduated Summa Cum Laude from Baylor University in Fall 2023 with her bachelor’s degree, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Sociology. Sarah-Beth is a member of the Psi Chi International Honor Society and worked as an undergraduate research assistant in Dr. Elkin’s Mind-Body Medicine Research Laboratory in Waco, TX. During her undergraduate studies, Sarah-Beth completed an internship at the Heart of Texas Behavioral Health Network where she guided individuals with intellectual or developmental disorders (IDD) through person-centered care. In pursuit of a PhD in Clinical Psychology, Sarah-Beth has joined the Baylor Behavioral Medicine Laboratory to gain further research experience. For fun, Sarah-Beth enjoys rock climbing, running, drawing, and reading.
