At the National Team Selling Competition hosted by Indiana University, Baylor University’s sales team, represented by Micaela Brewer, Darlene Duncan, Lauren Hills, and Saylor Yoos, placed 2nd out of 24 teams. The Baylor ProSales team was coached by Dr. Stephanie Mangus, along with student coaches Daevin Garcia, Clark Parr, and Austin Owens.

The 24 teams met with executives in two different sales call settings observed by a panel of judges. Following the two rounds of competition, the top three schools then presented before all judges, sponsors, faculty and students from participating schools. The final presentation in this group setting determined 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.

According to Micaela Brewer, ProSales Senior, “The National Team Selling Competition was such an incredible experience. I’ll forever remember this experience.” Her teammate, Darlene Duncan, commented that “The National Team Selling Competition was a great opportunity to learn more about sales and grow in professionalism.” External sales competitions, such as the NTSC, give students the opportunity to see how they “stack up” to sales majors at other universities. “I loved the opportunity to meet other young professionals from a variety of schools,” said Saylor Yoos, a Baylor ProSales Senior.

Baylor’s team placed in the finals over teams from Michigan State University, Penn State University, Villanova University, University of Kansas, among others. “At NTSC each year, I am continually impressed by the relevance of the cases to changes in the industry and market trends. Our students always come out of the competition not only sharpening their sales skills, but expanding their industry knowledge,” said Dr. Stephanie Mangus, a member of the Professional Selling faculty and the Faculty Coach for the Baylor team.
