Competition Results: 2025 Baylor Business Value Analysis (BBVA) competition

Baylor ProSales recently announced the results of the Baylor Business Value Analysis (BBVA) competition, where students completed a value analysis and delivered the results to an existing customer via video. Representing BMC Software (a ProSales Platinum-Plus corporate partner), 151 BBVA competitors engaged a large insurance customer regarding software licenses and usage patterns prior to contract renewal. Student competitors addressed how the use of an AI-enabled software option supported the increased workloads for the company’s personnel.
Value videos were judged virtually by 120 Corporate Partners, Advisory and Ambassador board members and business executives from around the country. Among the 151 individual competitors, the top BBVA finishers are:
1. Trevor Gaswirth
2. Kate Sralla
3. Emily Jones
4. Jonathan Buras
5. Samuel Koo
6. Hannah Pinney
7. Luke Holder
8. Evan Bass
9. Andrew Smith
10. Jack Sargent (tie)
10. Ashleigh Stuck (tie)
The top ProSales student for 2025 and a top finisher, Kate Sralla, shared, “Participating in the BBVA Competition challenged me to simplify complex problems and communicate value clearly through a digital medium. The competition involved assessing the customer’s current situation, evaluating potential opportunities with both short-term and long-term benefits, and presenting a strategic recommendation in the form of a short video. Given the fast-paced nature of sales and the market’s reliance on digital mediums, this competition develops skills I will carry into my full-time role. I am grateful for a program that is intentional about evaluating successful sales competencies and incorporating them into our learning!”
“This BBVA scenario was quite interesting for students to analyze. They had to consider the trade-offs of AI-enabled vs. non-enabled software licenses as well as named vs. concurrent licenses. BMC’s business contexts are rich learning experiences for our ProSales students,” noted Dr. Andrea Dixon, Executive Director of the Center for Professional Selling.
The BBVA allows Baylor students to see how they stack up against their peers and allows the center’s Corporate Partners to view Baylor talent as they prepare to enter the job market. In addition, top performers are awarded cash prizes.
