Jo Carruthers teaches English Literature at Lancaster University, UK, and works across the disciplines of literature and religious studies. Her two most recent books are out in 2020: The Politics of Purim: Law, Sovereignty and Hospitality in the Aesthetic Afterlives of Esther (Bloomsbury) and, co-edited with Nour Dakkak and Rebecca Spence, Anticipatory Materialisms in Literature and Philosophy 1790-1930 (Palgrave).
