Gil Waldkoenig was called to the faculty position in Church in Society at Gettysburg Seminary in 1995. He has taught congregational studies, ethnography of religion and courses about social ministry and the public witness of the church. Out of his long-term academic interest in rural and environmental history of Christianity, Gil specializes in mission and ministry for rural settings, environmental ministries and Appalachian culture—set within the broader life of the church’s diverse global nature.
