Esther T. Hu serves on the faculty of Boston University, where she is a Fellow of the International History Institute. Also affiliated with the Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies at Harvard University, Hu holds a Master’s in Teaching (English) from Duke University and a Master’s and Ph.D. in English Literature and Language from Cornell University. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Amherst College (English and Music). Hu’s work has appeared in Victorian Poetry, in Taiwan Literature: English Translation Series, in an edited collection, Through a Glass Darkly: Suffering, the Sacred, and the Sublime in Literature and Theory, and in Renditions. Her first book, the first English translation of the love story of four-star Chinese Nationalist general Hu Tsung-nan and President Yeh Hsia-Ti, is under consideration.
