Minimally Invasive Biomarkers

Our lab specializes in the development/application of ELISA methods for measuring physiological biomarkers in minimally invasive samples. This “participant-friendly” approach reduces participant burden and expands opportunity for research.

We currently measure biomarkers in urine, saliva, and finger-prick dried blood spot (DBS) samples, with an emphasis on DBS biomarkers and their development. The assays that we perform are numerous and include measures of glucose metabolism, inflammation, humoral and cell-mediated immune activity, adrenarche, satiety, bone turnover, and gut function.
