Carroll W. Fadal retired in June of this year after a successful 39-year career with Texas Life Insurance Co. During his tenure, he served in various roles, including agent, Regional Vice President, Territorial Vice President, Marketing Director, and as a sales liaison to important partners. In his most recent role, he was the Vice President and Chief Sales Officer, overseeing all company sales, marketing, and communications activities.
In retirement, Carroll supervised a team of sales directors, a communications/events director, and a marketing director. His career transitioned from a 13-year stint as a professional journalist to joining Texas Life as an agent.
Carroll is a proud Baylor graduate (1975) with a BA in journalism. Despite majoring in journalism, his favorite classes were in history, English, and religion. Professionally, his greatest accomplishment was helping Texas Life grow from a $7 million new annualized premium company to one that now regularly surpasses $50 million and is approaching $60 million this year. Personally, his greatest accomplishment was his marriage to Harriet (Hatt) Hull, which lasted for 48 years. They have a daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter who are cherished in their lives.
Carroll has been involved in various organizations throughout his life, including Waco Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Alliance of Financial and Marketing Professionals, Waco Habitat for Humanity, Rotary Club of Waco, St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, and more. He believes in the importance of serving others and values their success above his own.
His advice to students is to find something they are passionate about in their sales career and persevere, as “no” is just the beginning of the next opportunity.
