Steve Anthony works with Boston Scientific as a Regional Business Director in the Neuromodulation division. He manages a team of six Territory Managers and eleven Clinical Specialists across the DFW and Austin markets. Steve is responsible for achieving quarterly revenue targets, overseeing contract negotiations, and developing pricing strategies. He engages his team with customers and provides coaching to enhance their performance. Additionally, Steve assists with new hires during Initial Sales Training, offering feedback and guidance.
After graduating from Baylor University, Steve worked at an advertising agency in Dallas. Initially interested in advertising and marketing, he was introduced to sales by a sales representative. After two years at the agency, he transitioned to sales and has spent the past 34 years in this field, with the last 25 years in medical device sales. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism/Marketing Management from Baylor, where he was a sports reporter for the Lariat. During his time there, he interviewed notable athletes, including basketball point guard Michael Williams and quarterback Cody Carlson.
Personally, Steve considers his family his greatest achievement. His five sons are committed Christians, with the three eldest married and two having graduated from Baylor. Steve and his wife, also a Baylor graduate, enjoy traveling with their two youngest sons, who are still in high school. They are proud grandparents to two granddaughters.
Steve has been fortunate to work with high-caliber individuals in sales. A mentor once told him, “It’s all about the people,” a truth he values deeply. For Steve, culture and teamwork are paramount, and he has led amazing teams, not just for their sales success but for their character.
For over ten years, Steve’s family has sponsored a child through Compassion International and volunteered at the Union Gospel Mission in Ft. Worth, TX. He believes in Zig Ziglar’s philosophy: “You can have anything you want in life if you just help enough other people get what they want.” His family mission statement is to make a positive difference in their community and the kingdom of God.
Steve advises aspiring sales professionals to adopt a consultant role, focusing on doing what’s best for the customer to increase success and build strong business relationships. He also encourages openness to opportunities that get your foot in the door, emphasizing the importance of diligence and communicating your desire for more responsibility. Steve seeks individuals who want to build a career, not just find a job.
