Shelby Clark is an accomplished Associate Broker at Marcus & Millichap. As part of the exclusive Fellowship Program and a Broker on the Institutional Property Advisors Team, Shelby specializes in selling multifamily assets. Her day-to-day responsibilities include managing the marketing process for assets, making cold calls to set up property tours, collecting offers, and running tours herself. Additionally, Shelby plays a key role in updating internal supply data and refining financial models. Since starting her career at Marcus & Millichap, Shelby has been instrumental in the sale of over $475M in multifamily assets.
Shelby is a proud graduate of Baylor University, where she majored in Professional Selling and Management. Her experiences in the ProSales program had a profound impact on her career trajectory, which is why she remains committed to giving back to the program.
As a young professional, Shelby’s accomplishments are already notable – she’s part of one of the top Multifamily Investment Sales teams in DFW and has won every competition and award she was eligible for since joining Marcus & Millichap. She is also one of five members in her cohort across the U.S. in the Fellowship Program.
As one of the few female brokers among more than 80 agents at Marcus & Millichap in Dallas, Shelby is an active member of several women’s organizations, including the Real Estate Council, CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women), WAM (Women in Asset Management), and Ladies in CRE. These groups have provided Shelby with invaluable networking opportunities and have been vital to her success.
Shelby’s advice to current students is to take advantage of every opportunity offered in the ProSales program, even those that might not seem immediately beneficial. She encourages students to prepare for role plays as if real commissions are at stake, practice professionalism in emails, and set up an effective calendar system early on. Shelby believes that building strong habits in college will help set students up for long-term success. She also advises students to aim high in their career aspirations and not to settle for the “safe” path but to pursue their dream roles with determination.
