Reed Mitteness is an Account Executive at AuditBoard, where he is responsible for closing new business through acquiring new logos and expanding relationships with current customers. His role demands a strategic approach to client engagement, ensuring that AuditBoard’s solutions meet the evolving needs of both new and existing clients.
Prior to joining the Audit Board, Reed gained valuable experience at IBM, where he honed his skills in sales and customer relationship management. His academic background includes a degree in Professional Selling from Baylor University, where he developed the foundation for his successful career in sales.
One of Reed’s proudest professional achievements was successfully bringing a key customer over from a competitor, a move that transformed the client into one of AuditBoard’s most valuable reference customers and advocates. His collaboration with the marketing team has led to impactful videos and testimonials, and he has taken on speaking engagements at events to share his insights. Additionally, Reed has worked closely with the product team to inform the development roadmap, ensuring that customer feedback plays a critical role in shaping future offerings.
Outside of his professional life, Reed is an active volunteer at The Village Church, where he participates in the Training Program – a year-long, seminary-style theology class. This experience has further developed his critical thinking skills and enhanced his ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
Reed’s advice to students pursuing a career in sales is clear: It’s worth it. While the workload may feel overwhelming at times, doing more than your peers, he believes, will leave you far better prepared to succeed in the job market post-graduation.
