Megan Griggs currently serves as a Brand Sales Specialist at IBM, focusing on IBM Z Stack within the financial industry. After joining IBM, she quickly advanced into her role after completing an in-depth training program. Megan now works exclusively with strategic accounts in the financial sector, where her responsibilities include networking with clients, learning about their portfolios and use cases, and building expertise in IBM’s Z/Mainframe portfolio. She focused on maintaining long-standing relationships with key clients, and her role has already afforded her the opportunity to travel to multiple locations, sit in on client meetings, and gain valuable insights into the financial industry. On a typical day, Megan is engaged in internal and client calls, collaborating with subject matter experts, and supporting the creation of pitch decks and conference materials, all while continuing her training and development.
Before joining IBM, Megan interned with BMC during her Baylor ProSales journey. Her experiences at BMC deepened her passion for sales and leadership. Megan credits her success to hard work, persistence, and the invaluable networking and learning opportunities she embraced along the way.
Megan is a Baylor University graduate, with a degree in Professional Sales and Entrepreneurship. Her favorite courses challenged her to think creatively, push beyond her comfort zone, and collaborate effectively—skills she continues to apply in her professional career.
Outside of work, Megan is an active member of Shoreline City Church and participates in a volunteer organization at IBM, both of which have helped her grow as a person and a leader. She believes strongly in the value of mentorship and collaboration, and advises others to take full advantage of the resources around them—whether through peers, mentors, or educational opportunities—to accelerate their personal and professional development.
Megan’s advice to aspiring professionals is to embrace every resource available, from classmates to mentors, to build the skills and relationships that will set you apart in your career. With intentionality, hard work, and persistence, success will follow.
