Matt Galvin’s professional journey has taken him through various roles at Architectural Lighting Alliance since 2018, including quotations, inside sales, contractor distributor sales, project management, and his current role as a Specification Sales professional since 2023. Architectural Lighting Alliance represents over 200 lighting manufacturers, and Matt’s role involves aiding specifiers, such as engineers, architects, and lighting designers, in the design of commercial lighting projects. His daily routine includes design meetings, building lighting fixture schedules, reviewing lighting submittal packages, site visits, and collaborating with lighting manufacturers.
Matt’s career kicked off in the leadership development program at Acuity Brands Lighting, where he gained valuable insights into the lighting industry. He majored in Professional Selling at Baylor University, and his favorite classes included Negotiations, Christian Scriptures, and Communication. Personally, his most significant accomplishment is his family, including his wife Catherine, and his three kids Will, James, and Merritt.
Matt actively contributes to Watermark Community Church and leads a group of high school students, aligning with Baylor Professional Selling’s mission of sending missionaries into the workplace for Christ. His advice revolves around serving others, relying on the Lord at all times, leading with integrity and humility, continual education and learning, and working with diligence and passion (Colossians 3:23-24) to excel in the sales field.
