Darlene Aguillard is a Senior Area Sales Manager at Owens Corning, where she covers Texas and New Mexico in her territory. She has been with the company for nearly four years, starting in a hybrid role supporting two Area Sales Managers before moving into her current position. Her job involves servicing various customer segments, including Gypsum Supply and Insulation Distributors, Masons, Waterproofers, Direct Contractors, National Homebuilders, and lumber dealers. Darlene handles anything from bidding jobs and providing quotes to visiting job sites and ensuring product installations go smoothly.
She began her journey with Owens Corning during a summer internship before her senior year at Baylor University and started full-time after graduation. Darlene graduated from Baylor with a degree in Professional Selling and Management, with active involvement in Student Government and New Student Programs during her four years at Baylor.
Professionally, Darlene set a goal to become an Area Sales Manager for Texas within a year and a half of joining Owens Corning, and she achieved that goal, becoming the youngest Area Sales Manager in the insulation business. Personally, she recently became a mother to her baby girl, Sarah Beth, which she considers one of life’s greatest accomplishments.
Darlene is actively involved in the Rio Grande Valley Builders Association and serves as the treasurer on the board for Culture of Life Ministry (COLM), a non-profit clinic providing free healthcare services. These organizations allow her to give back to her community and provide a break from her everyday corporate life.
She encourages students to use the Professional Selling major as a conversation starter and to leverage the opportunities provided by the program to showcase their capabilities and confidence to employers and customers.
