Meet Ben Christie, affectionately known as Uncle Ben, the main protagonist, founder, and owner of The Urban Rescue Ranch (TURR), a sanctuary for animals located in Waco, Texas. Ben is also the creative mind behind TURR’s popular TikTok and YouTube channels, bringing the joy of animal rescue and care to a vast online audience.
Originally from an office job, Ben transitioned into running the ranch and creating content full-time, thanks to the success of his online presence. His dedication to animal welfare led him to establish TURR, where he spends his days caring for wild Rheas, playing with a kangaroo named Da Baby, and cleaning alongside his trusty dog Poggers.
Ben’s adventurous spirit is showcased in his content, where he fearlessly engages in unique activities such as eating raw ostrich eggs and sticking his hand in ant hills. Despite the unconventional tasks, Ben’s genuine love for animals shines through in every video.
In addition to his online success, Ben is actively working on obtaining a wildlife rehab permit to further contribute to animal rescue efforts. His journey began as a hobby in backyard farming and animal rescue during his time at Baylor University, evolving into the vision for TURR.
Currently, Ben handles much of the rescue work and social media management, but he looks forward to the future growth of TURR. With plans for a new facility and an expanding team, Ben is determined to continue his mission of rescuing and caring for farm animals and domestic pets.
