Jessica Booth has over 8 years of experience at Nucor, holding various roles in sales before transitioning to Nucor’s Corporate Talent Resources Team where she now serves as the Commercial Talent Supervisor. Her past roles at Nucor include Sales Associate, Outside Processing Coordinator, Commercial Recruiting Coordinator, Commercial Talent Coordinator.
In her current role, Jessica’s primary responsibilities include executing strategies to identify, engage, and attract top commercial talent to Nucor. She also supports the recruitment, selection, and coordination of the Commercial talent pipelines, including the Developmental District Sales Manager (DDSM) program and the Commercial Internship program.
Jessica’s career at Nucor began in inside sales as a sales associate, where she gained experience in managing customer accounts and coordinating with various departments to sell products and service customers.
She earned a B.S. Degree in Marketing from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. Her greatest personal accomplishment was working full-time while attending college to pay for her education and graduating without debt. Professionally, she takes pride in developing a mentorship program at Nucor that significantly reduced safety incidents for newly hired teammates during their first 90 days on the job.
Jessica is an active member of the Association of Women in the Metals Industry (AWMI) and serves as the Alumni Representative on the board for Indiana DECA, supporting the development of future business leaders in high schools in Indiana. Within Nucor, she co-leads the Mentorship Drivers team of the Women of Nucor group and is a member of her local division’s Charitable Donations group. Her involvement in these organizations and teams allows her to expand her network while giving back and supporting others.
Her advice to students majoring in professional selling is to remain a lifelong learner and stay curious about various aspects of life and work. Being curious can lead to unexpected opportunities.
