Student Feature – Emily McCandlish

If there’s one phrase to describe Emily McCandlish, it’s all-out. Emily’s commitment and enthusiasm are evident in all she does. This dedication to excellence was demonstrated in her role as a Community Leader, and she was was recognized as Community Leader of the Year in 2018. Additionally, 40 percent of the applicants for 2019 Community Leaders came from Emily’s community, so, it is evident that her leadership is inspirational to others.

A Professional Selling major, Emily was inspired to pursue this major by her brother, who completed the program before her. Not surprisingly, she says the program feels like family, as her faculty, mentors, and peers are supportive and always willing to help her achieve her goals. Emily credits the program with teaching her to face challenges head on. She also says the program has instilled in her a genuine curiosity, an attribute she says is applicable to both professional and personal situations. Emily’s commitment and positive attitude will continue to inspire those around her as she moves into the workforce. No matter where she goes, she will be all-out. Emily went all-out and joined 3M as an outside sales representative.
