Student Feature – Darlene Duncan
Darlene knows that discipline is key to achieving excellence. A lifelong violin and piano player, she has put in more than 12,000 hours of practice time to develop her musical expertise. The result of that practice: Darlene made the Texas Music Educators Association All-State ensemble all 4 years of high school.
Fast-forward to college and she continues to demonstrate excellence at Baylor. Through her involvement in Student Government as a Senator, Darlene recently passed a bill requiring students’ job interviews to count as excused absences. Darlene works to make her time count as a member of Alpha Chi Omega and as a volunteer at the Family Abuse Center.
A double major in Professional Selling and Management, Darlene credits the ProSales program with teaching her how to prioritize her time and focus her energy. With her active involvement on campus, this skill is crucial to her success.
Upon graduation Darlene will start her career with Owens Corning.
