JR Weaver

JR Weaver has been with VMware since 2012 in various roles. He began on VMware’s first-ever Business Development team, transitioning into Inside Sales, followed by a successful five-year stint as an Enterprise Account Executive. After a major acquisition, JR assumed a leadership role and now leads the team responsible for the joint success of both companies. In his current role, he manages the Global Partner Field Sales team, working with 8 direct reports and around 50+ cross-functional team members to collaborate with top hardware provider partners. This partnership drives additional VMware software pipeline and bookings, representing over $500 million in annual revenue.

He started his career at VMware on their inaugural Business Development team, where he laid the foundation for his future success. Subsequently, he transitioned into Inside Sales and then went on to spend five fruitful years as an Enterprise Account Executive. JR’s journey took an exciting turn after a major acquisition and merger, which presented an opportunity for him to step into a leadership role.

Currently, he is responsible for running the Global Partner Field Sales team at VMware. In this role, he manages a team with eight direct reports and collaborates with a cross-functional team of over 50 members. The primary focus of his team is to leverage partnerships with top hardware provider companies such as Dell Technologies, HPE, Cisco, Hitachi, and Lenovo to drive additional VMware software pipeline and bookings. This segment of VMware’s business is substantial, representing over $500 million in annual revenue, and it continues to experience significant growth.

JR Weaver’s journey into the professional world began after his Baylor ProSales internship when he joined McLane Company. He is a proud graduate of Baylor University, where he majored in ProSales. During his time at Baylor, he actively participated in various leadership positions, including serving as the social chair and playing on the girls’ basketball practice squad.

On a personal note, JR is happily married to an incredible wife, and they are the proud parents of three wonderful children. Professionally, he has achieved the significant milestone of making Club as a seller and has played an integral role in building VMware’s outstanding Global Partner organization. Currently, he is transitioning between organizations, and his commitment to excellence and leadership shines through in all his endeavors.
