Andy started his journey with 3M in Fort Worth, Texas, supporting the Industrial Adhesives & Tapes Division. He graduated from Baylor University in 2012 with a major in Professional Selling, and he attributes his success to Dr. Dixon, who had a significant impact on his life, both personally and professionally.
During his 11-year journey at the company, he has held various sales roles with increasing responsibilities. In 2019, he joined 3M’s Design Solutions team within the Industrial Adhesives and Tapes division.
In his current role, Andy is primarily responsible for specifying 3M products and collaborating with global teams to promote “borderless” selling. He works closely with corporate research and development as well as engineering teams to solve design challenges using tapes and adhesives, focusing primarily on customers in the Electronics and Internet of Things (IoT) space. His day-to-day activities involve virtual and in-person meetings, developing test plans, and performing testing in customer and 3M labs to validate designs. Andy’s team supports engineering teams from the concept phase through mass production and collaborates with global business and local sales teams to ensure supply chains are aligned to scale up production across different regions.
While his career goals and priorities have evolved over the past 11 years, Andy’s current focus is on his growing family. He and his wife are expecting their fourth child early next year. As his children grow, he prioritizes being involved in their activities and being the best father he can be. His career path and goals have shifted, and he has passed up several significant career opportunities in recent years to put his family first, a decision fully supported by 3M.
Currently, Andy dedicates his spare time to supporting his children’s extracurricular activities in football, baseball, soccer, and golf.
His advice to others is never to stop believing in themselves, emphasizing that with the right mindset, goal-oriented focus, and hard work, anyone can accomplish their aspirations.
