Student Feature – Erica Ginaven
Passionately Serving
A first-generation college student, Erica Ginaven is determined to make the most of her college career. Being a member of six organizations and a leader in four, Erica balances her activities with her studies, making the Dean’s list during her first year at Baylor. Outside of school, Erica loves to play golf and likens the sport to sales. Both require persistence, grit, and autonomy, or P.G.A., as she calls it. For Erica, a bad day on the course or in sales, though disheartening, provides an opportunity for growth and a greater chance for success in the future.
Passionate about serving and putting the needs of others above her own, Erica is a leader in the Professional Development Program, an Oso Launch Facilitator, a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, and she was a First in Line Success Academy peer leader her sophomore year, providing support and encouragement to first-generation freshman as they acclimate to life away from home. All these experiences combined have contributed to the professional, inclusive, and driven individual she is today, equipped with skills in networking, communication, and time management.
Erica’s passion for people stems from her strong faith. Believing that our experiences, especially our difficulties, can be used to encourage others, Erica finds joy in offering support and understanding to others. Her favorite part of ProSales has been the relationships she has cultivated along the way, and she credits the program with teaching her the value of teamwork. Recognizing that sales is akin to building relationships and satisfying needs, Erica is excited to pursue a career that combines her passion to serve and her skills.
