Baylor’s Professional Selling program (Baylor ProSales) finished 4th overall, out of 67 universities, in the National Collegiate Sales Competition (NCSC) at Kennesaw State University. Representing Baylor ProSales were Marissa Kelty, Valerie Vaughn and student coaches, Victoria Barkate and Alicia Boczar. The ProSales team was coached by faculty members, Coach Chuck Fifield and Dr. Emily Hunter. “NCSC is a great opportunity for serious pro-sales-minded students to test their skills.  Baylor’s students have consistently performed at the top of their class over the many years we have participated in this competition, and this year’s output was no exception,” said Fifield.

ProSales senior, Valerie Vaughn, finished #3 out of 134 competitors, stating, “My success and the success of the Baylor ProSales team were a direct result of the efforts and contribution of our coaches. I’m very thankful their help!” said Vaughn. Marissa Kelty made strong strides in the competition making it to the semi-finals.  “My experience was invaluable. I was able to enhance my sales skills beyond the classroom. I was able to grow and build my confidence in a selling situation,” said Kelty, a ProSales Junior.

NCSC showcases the top sales students through competitive role-play scenarios. Competitors sell a product in the 20-minute role-plays individually and are awarded as individuals, with the exception of team awards, which are based on the combined cumulative scores of each university.
