Student Feature – True Walters
What makes True Walters unique is how he lives out his name. He stays true to himself while working hard to reach his goals. While everything has not come easy to True, he faces adversity by working hard to reach his goals…all while staying true to himself.
True was first challenged by Dr. Dixon to be accepted into the professional sales program. In order to be considered for acceptance into the Professional Selling program, True had to make significant changes to his study habits and work ethic and increase his GPA. True worked tirelessly to increase his GPA in order to be considered for ProSales. Now, True is graduating from the professional sales program in May, with a 3.83 GPA in his major.
During his sales internship, True was also faced with adversity. However, having conquered so many challenges within the sales program already, he was not fazed. When the interns were challenged to generate large numbers of referrals, True’s team fell dangerously behind. “I read books, met with experienced sales agents, and even found myself in the office on a Saturday…I chose to persevere through this challenge. I went from missing my goal to leading the company in referrals the next month and securing a job offer.”
