Austin Roberson and Robert Howard, 2013 graduates of Baylor University’s ProSales program, are consistently delivering value at Oracle and have quickly locked down spots as top salespeople in the Oracle’s Austin-based Business Development office.

Austin Roberson, from San Antonio, TX, led North American sales opportunities this past quarter in Oracle’s Business Development office located in Austin. Specifically, he focuses on selling Oracle’s core business technologies in the public sector. “My biggest strength is building/managing relationships. In my role at Oracle I am responsible for supporting several groups of people. How I manage my time and how I perform for those people reflects on my brand and my success,” said Roberson. “This recognition validates my hard work. It also means I am creating actual value for my Organization within Oracle.”

Robert Howard, a Dallas, TX native, created the third most value for his division at Oracle last quarter. Howard, who also sells core business technologies, continuously looks at the big picture to drive his success. “I like finding customers who you can genuinely help, where the solutions you offer are going to make their life better.”

Howard and Roberson both credit their time and experience in Baylor’s ProSales program as key to their success at Oracle. “Learning to work with a variety of different personality types as well as understanding the full picture of value creation are skills I learned while in the sales program at Baylor and they have become hugely important in my role at Oracle,” said Howard.

“The Prosales program did a great job of preparing me for my role in Oracle. I think the program does a great job of helping you realize your strengths and helping them work best for you as they relate to sales,” said Roberson. “For example, Dr. Dixon helped me realize my biggest strength was in how I relate to people. I try to tap into that strength every time I am on the phone with a customer or working with an Oracle representative.”

“Robert Howard and Austin Roberson demonstrated their willingness and ability to lead while they were students in Baylor’s ProSales program. So, it is not surprising to see these two alumni leading the way in Oracle’s Business Development Consultant role. We are pleased to be able to serve Oracle’s talent needs by placing Baylor ProSales students into their operations,” stated Dr. Andrea Dixon, executive director of the Center for Professional Selling at Baylor University.
