With the fall colors in full bloom, Baylor University took the 1st place team finish at the 2024 Great Northwoods Sales Warmup (GNW) at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. In addition to viewing the colorful Fall leaves, the team brought home the top competitor finish and top team win!
Student teams from 27 universities participated in this competition which features grocery products sold through distribution and retail stores. Hunter Redding and Ashleigh Stuck (seniors) and Emily Jones (junior) in the Professional Selling program, represented Baylor in this competition. Ashleigh finished 1st in the field of 78 competitors, while Hunter finished 4TH . Emily rounded out Baylor’s representation and placed 17th overall. The team’s collective efforts allowed Baylor to outscore all other teams to take the first-place team finish.
“GNW provided the opportunity to learn a new industry, prepare for different buyers and meeting formats that correlate with potential industry contexts. I am so thankful to have had the privilege to represent Baylor’s excellent ProSales program and the training that we receive that sets us up for success. This was such a fun way to represent Baylor ProSales by competing on a national level. Hunter Redding, Emily Jones, and I found much of our success came from the preparation – shout-out to our student coaches Jack, Trey, and Tyler!” shared Ashleigh Stuck about her competition experience.
As this team’s faculty coach, Dr. Andrea Dixon noted, “I’ve coached this external competition (and a number of others) over the 15 years that I’ve been at Baylor. This was truly the best student coaching team that I’ve had the pleasure to work with. Tyler Kelly, Jack Sargent, and Trey Walker were 100% invested in the success of our competitors. Ashleigh, Hunter, and Emily worked tirelessly to prepare and then represent Baylor with excellence. I couldn’t be more proud of these six students.” The ProSales program leverages a system of student and faculty coaches for the external sales competitions.
