Baylor ProSales: 4th Place Team for Midwest-based Competition

Baylor’s ProSales was well represented at the 2024 University of Toledo Invitational Sales Competition (UTISC) hosted by the University of Toledo and the 3M Corporation. This UTISC competition involved multiple rounds of sales role plays. The Baylor ProSales team included Tanner Moore (Junior division), Grace Simmons (Sophomore division), as well as student coaches Wilson Feezel, Clay Kellejian, Tyler Kelly, Jaden Mazzola, and Andrew Richards. The Baylor team was coached by Dr. Keith Richards and ProSales Assistant Director, Bree Meadows. Students from 36 universities participated in the role play competition.

Students competed in either the Junior or Sophomore division. Tanner Moore finished 2nd overall in the Junior division while Grace Simmons finished 7th overall in the Sophomore division. Their combined scores gave the Baylor ProSales team a 4th place team out of 39 teams, representing 36 universities, across the rounds of role plays. Sharing the impact of this experience, Tanner notes, “The UTISC provided me with a new perspective on effective selling. Immersing myself in the case study made me feel like a product expert, allowing me to develop a genuine and conversational selling style. My favorite aspect of the competition was experiencing the support of a full team, driving me forward to successfully close sales calls!”

The team’s coach, Dr. Keith Richards, applauded the team, “As always, the University of Toledo puts on an amazing sales competition: top notch sponsors, great networking experiences, and tough competition! Both Baylor competitors, Tanner Moore and Grace Simmons, had a chance to demonstrate their excellent sales skills and bring home top-level finishes.”
