Student Feature – Matea Floryance
Balance with Ambition
Matea’s life is a symphony of diverse interests and skills. She plays four instruments, harmonizes in Baylor VirtuOso’s acapella choir, and holds the unconventional prowess of devouring a 32-ounce steak in under 10 minutes (or 16 ounces in a swift 2 minutes and 35 seconds). Her active side emerges through slacklining and her love for Spike ball, which led her to join Baylor’s Spike ball Club during her freshman year. Music, singing, and staying fit are essential parts of her life.
In the Baylor community, Matea’s leadership shines as a former campus workout leader at Baylor GAIN, where she challenged fellow students in fitness and cultivated her leadership skills. Additionally, her involvement in Baylor VirtuOso allowed her to connect with peers outside the business school, broadening her network and enriching her college experience.
Matea’s journey in the ProSales program has been transformative. It pushed her beyond her comfort zone, teaching her efficient and creative work methods and honing her teamwork abilities. Her busy schedule has become a source of productivity and a reminder that being constantly engaged can be a path to success. Matea doesn’t just see her ProSales skills as tools for the classroom; she applies them in job shadows, business conversations, and everyday interactions, offering innovative perspectives and practical insights. Her ambition, dedication to self-improvement, strong faith, and love for music and fitness blend seamlessly into her sales prowess and her vibrant presence in the ProSales community.
