On Wednesday, April 5th, Baylor ProSales celebrated the final results for the Baylor Business Value Analysis (BBVA) competition, where students completed a value analysis and delivered the results to an existing customer via video. BBVA competitors had to address an implementation issue with BMC’s Digital Workplace product in a relatively short (less than three minutes) video.

These value-focused videos were judged virtually by 71 Corporate Partners, Advisory and Ambassador board members and business executives from around the country.

Among the 104 individual competitors, the top BBVA finishers are:

1. Kat Vines
2. Lachlan McGregor
3. Tyler Peterson
4. Grant Williams
5. Benj Nopper
6. Gabby Hendricks (tie)
6. Caleb Paschke (tie)
6. Piya Patel (tie)
7. Jason Nacario (tie)
7. Jason Treese (tie)

The top finisher, Junior ProSales major Kat Vines, commented, “ProSales teaches us that a sale is ongoing and relational and that we are there to help others. BBVA is a great opportunity to practice this philosophy as we help solve a client’s problem following a sale and continue building the relationship.”

“Our suite of sales competitions plays a crucial role in student development for our ProSales competency-based model. Three other competitions focus on: (1) business development activities, (2) face-to-face sales meetings, and (3) ethical business decision-making.  We develop each of our sales competition profiles to focus on current issues facing today’s business-to-business sales representatives. Working through a video medium for this competition prepares ProSales students for the modern sales environment,” shared Dr. Andrea Dixon, Executive Director of the Center for Professional Selling.

The BBVA allows Baylor students to see how they stack up against their peers and allows the center’s Corporate Partners to view Baylor ProSales talent as they prepare to enter the job market. In addition, top performers are awarded cash prizes.
