At the start of Spring Break, Baylor ProSales competed in the 2023 National Collegiate Sales Competition (NCSC) hosted by Kennesaw State University.  As a result of their collective work, the Baylor sales team finished 9th out of 68 teams. Dr. Swan led the team to a top 10 finish in his first outing as the NCSC competition faculty coach.

This competition, which involves 68 universities, is billed as the largest undergraduate competition in the United States. Collin Bass and Benj Nopper, both juniors in the Professional Selling program, represented Baylor in this Atlanta-area competition taking 14th and 19th place out of 136 competitors. In addition to Dr. Eric Swan, the Baylor team was coached by student coaches: Katie Boatwright, Gracie Miller, Shane Trevino, and Kristina Ward.

The three days of competitions involved sales exchanges with executives and judges from Gartner, InsightGlobal, Sazerac, Service Titan, Granite Telecommunications, Bunzl. Lennox, Paycom, Aflac, Assa Abloy, AtriCure, Bayer, Ciena, Cintas, Enterprise Holdings, Fischer Homes, Grainger, MemoryBlue, National Corporate Housing, Republic National Distribution Company, Samsara, Sanofi, Stryker, the Home Depot, TKElevator, UniFirst, United Healthcare, White Cap, OneAmerica, Rush Enterprises and Spectrum Enterprise.

Junior Benj Nopper notes, ” As a competitor, you must be prepared walking into the room, but it’s even more important to be able to think on your feet and be ready for any curveball that might come your way, just like in the business world. I am beyond thankful for Dr. Swan’s leadership and the support from our student coaches which allowed us to represent our program at a high level on the big stage. “

Dr. Swan shared, “”I’m proud of how our team prepared for and competed at the NCSC competition. Our coaches Kristina, Katie, Shane, and Gracie pushed our competitors each week and did a lot of behind the scenes work to get them ready for the competition. Benj and Collin showcased that they can compete at the highest level leading our team to a Top 10 finish out of 72 universities. This group epitomized teamwork with good attitudes and effort every step of the way.”
