Student Feature – Tyler Spears
Competition of One
Double-majoring in ProSales and Finance, Tyler Spears is passionate about improving himself daily, living out his faith boldly, and being financially stable in life. Playing baseball, football, and basketball during high school, he learned the value of grit and constant improvement for success. Turning down the chance to play baseball at the collegiate level in order to attend Baylor, he currently enjoys golf and weightlifting as competitive outlets, pushing himself to be the best he can be.
A member of Delta Tau Delta, Tyler serves as an Executive Board member in his roles as Director of New Member Development and Co-Chaplain. He is thankful that these roles have allowed him to pour into others and help them develop both professionally and spiritually.
Through ProSales, Tyler has learned how to actively listen to identify needs and effectively evaluate his own strengths and weaknesses. He credits the program with teaching him to persevere even when motivation is lacking, to work hard and smart, to invest his time in the people around him, to learn from talented colleagues, and that comparison is the killer of joy. He believes these are not only business skills, but life skills that have positioned Tyler to be the best version of himself in his sales career.
