Student Feature – Sam Whitaker

Seeking to Add Value

Double majoring in ProSales and Risk Management & Insurance, Sam Whitaker decided to pursue a career in sales because he wants to help others. Passionate about people, he seeks to build meaningful relationships and add value in every situation. In his free time, he integrates this passion for people while ranching, traveling, or simply hanging out with his Baylor family.

Sam is a leader in Baylor’s Professional Development Program, an organization devoted to guiding students in their college-to-career transition. He is also an active member of his fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon.

Through the ProSales program, Sam has learned that failure is a part of life and that what matters most is how you respond in times of difficulty. He believes that what makes a person successful is failing fast and learning to get back up and try again. Grateful for the skills he has developed in ProSales, Sam used them to his advantage in his summer internship with Way Companies. While there, his team surpassed their quota, and Sam took the initiative to streamline the sales pipeline, creating a system for employees to track their leads. He is excited to bring his creativity and passion for people to his future career.
