Student Feature – Andres Hernan

Serving His Community

At age 15, Andres Hernan got his first job working part-time at a local McDonald’s. Over the next three years, he would discover a love for connecting with people and adding value to their experience through positive engagement. Furthermore, this humble beginning taught him foundational business and customer service skills that continue to be an asset to him today.

Andres is proud of his Spanish heritage and has enjoyed visiting his father’s family in Spain, as well as taking advantage of a study-abroad semester in Madrid. These cultural experiences have contributed to his ability to confidently relate to and communicate with people from a variety of backgrounds, a critical skill for a career in sales. As a member of the Hispanic Student Association, Andres has volunteered, collaborated, and furthered his engagement with the Spanish community at Baylor.

Appreciative of the ProSales program, Andres counts his drive to succeed, his ability to communicate with professionalism, and creatively solve problems as just some of the skills developed through the ProSales program. Passionate about serving others, Andres understands the importance of giving back to his community and desires to make a difference in the sales world. With two sales internships under his belt at Arrow Electronics, and third at Paradox, Andres is excited to continue to implement what he has learned in the classroom and to grow each day as a salesperson and professional while serving his community.
