Baylor’s Center for Professional Selling is excited to announce the winners for the Baylor Business Ethics Competition (BBEC), a ProSales program-specific competition designed to challenge ProSales students with ethical dilemmas evident in real sales organizations.

The ProSales BBEC engaged 76 students on 19 teams who developed proactive plans to consider a job offer with Google (Alphabet) in a role that involves selling Google Duplex, a product with important ethical considerations. The winners for this year’s BBEC include:

  • Clay Almond, Beth Gosnell, Ashton Kresta & Jacob Wassell
  • Whitney Johnson, Erica Ginaven, Gavin Hartoonian & Marco Rodriguez
  • Victoria Whitworth, Hunter Larson, Garrett Starks & Riley Walton

Top individual speakers were Erica Ginaven, Maddie McKenzie, and Jacob Wassell, who were chosen by their room judges. Participants competed in three rooms with four-five judges per room, comprised of thirteen business executives and three Baylor faculty and staff.

“BBEC presented an interesting case in an industry that I was not familiar with. However, after working with my great teammates, we were able to present a solution that would mitigate ethical risks from the start and address the ethical concerns as they came to light. I am always thankful to have the opportunity to compete in the Center for Professional Selling’s competitions!” shared Jacob Wassell, a member of the 1st place team and one of the top presenters of the day.
