Baylor’s Victoria Whitworth Takes 1st Place at UTISC Competition
Baylor took home a 1st place finish over the weekend from the University of Toledo Invitational Sales Competition (UTISC). Sales teams from 39 universities participated in this competition which showcases junior- and sophomore-level talent.
Baylor ProSales student Victoria Whitworth took 1st place in the junior division, while Erica Ginaven placed 1st in round one of her room for the sophomore division and competed through the quarter finals. As a result of Victoria and Erica’s combined efforts, the Baylor sales team placed 6th overall. Victoria and Erica’s development was supported by a team of student coaches: Megan Baniewicz, Katelyn Johnson, Dillon Fontaine, Jake Morrow, and Sam Whitaker.
Baylor’s faculty coach for this competition, Dr. Eric Swan noted, “It was an honor to coach such a wonderful group of competitors. Starting with the first day of practice, this group committed to work together as a team towards a common goal. This meant some members had to take on support roles with research, coaching, and playing the buyer in practice role plays. Each team member committed to their role, and the energy and enthusiasm never wavered. They embodied the elements you hope for in a team.”
Top-place Victoria Whitworth shared, “The UTISC was an incredible learning experience that presented me with the opportunity to network with fellow students and executives from across the nation. The competition case was challenging, yet a fun learning experience that gave myself and fellow competitors a glimpse into real-life sales scenarios!”
