Student Feature – Josh Rocconi
After transferring to a small, Christian school for his sophomore year of high school, Josh went from playing quarterback at a Division 1 school to attending a school that did not even have a football team. When his former school heard he would no longer be playing the sport, they offered him a coaching position for the 7th grade team. It was during his two years as a middle school coach that Josh discovered his passion for coaching and leading others.
Josh is a Business Fellow, majoring in Professional Selling and minoring in Religion. He also volunteers with the STARS Ministry in Waco ISD. The ProSales program taught Josh to lead in a manner that brings value to others and glory to God. Persuasion through building value is a skill he has applied outside the classroom, specifically in his leadership opportunities, as he strives to bring together groups of individuals under one vision, to form a team.
Because of his passion for coaching, leading, and achieving, Josh hopes to eventually become a CEO, leading his coworkers in a way that drives growth for each team member and for the company as a whole. Josh is looking forward to beginning his career at Shaw Industries.
