Baylor Student Places 1st at RBI National Sales Challenge
Baylor Professional Selling (ProSales) students Alex Justus and Victoria Whitworth represented Baylor at the Russ Berrie Institute National Sales Challenge, hosted by William Paterson University, on November 14-17, 2018. The NSC attracts 38 universities represented by two competitors each. Senior Alex Justus secured a first-place overall finish for the Sales Role Play and fourth-place for the overall competition. Sophomore Victoria Whitworth advanced to the semi-finals and helped secure a third-place overall finish for Baylor University as a team.
“The National Sales Challenge was an incredible experience where I was able to put what I have learned in the ProSales program and during internships to the test, said Justus. The competition was a great opportunity to showcase our ability to navigate a multi-meeting sales process with unexpected objections. It was an honor to place first in the role play competition and to network with other sales professionals. Ultimately, I am thankful for my Baylor team and mentors who have supported my development over the past four years!”
Baylor’s Center for Professional Selling Program Manager, Brianna Hensley coached this competition team along with ProSales student coaches: Anderson Harris, Logan Hardin, Lansden Schmidt and Colton Wiseman.
“We are very grateful for William Paterson University and Complete Document Solutions for providing this learning experience for our students,” said Brianna Hensley, Program Manager for Baylor’s Center for Professional Selling. “I am very proud of the team and their dedication to this competition. Watching their growth and development throughout the semester was truly rewarding.”
Baylor’s Professional Selling program emphasizes sales competition participation for student development. Professional Selling students participate in four on-campus competitions and represent Baylor at nine external events at other universities each year.
