Baylor Professional Selling (ProSales) students Bradley Baniewicz, Brody Hill, Tyler Skelton and Jake Todd represented Baylor at the Liberty Mutual Southwest Sales Competition, hosted by the University of Houston, on October 12-13, 2017. Junior Bradley Baniewicz came away with a fourth-place overall finish out of a field of 27 competitors from seven universities.

“The Liberty Mutual Sales Competition was an amazing experience for our team,” said Baniewicz. “It provided an opportunity to sharpen our sales skills and also gain invaluable experience. I appreciated the help and support I received from my peers and coaches in helping prepare for the competition and closing the sale.”

Professor Chuck Fifield, Brianna Hensley and ProSales alumni Taylor Morrison, along with ProSales students Abbi Armstrong, Alex Justus, Brooke Melton and Scott Pratt coached the team, preparing the competitors for the unique focus of this competition.

“The Liberty Mutual Insurance Southwest Sales Competition is a unique opportunity for our students because its focus is on the services of a highly regarded financial services firm, which we don’t otherwise experience in our sales competition endeavors, shared Chuck Fifield, Senior Lecturer in Baylor’s Hankamer School of Business. “All participating students have a great opportunity to learn about applied sales skills; however, those looking to develop a financial service career gain significantly from the overall experience.”

Baylor’s Professional Selling program emphasizes sales competition participation for student development. Professional Selling students participate in four on-campus competitions and represent Baylor at nine external events at other universities each year.
