Baylor’s Center for Professional Selling (ProSales) hosted its annual Top Gun Training on January 13 at the Waco Hilton.

More than 135 ProSales students and Center for Professional Selling Advisory Board members, Ambassador Board members and Corporate Partners participated in a networking lunch and workshops on business travel and entertainment. The program provided students the opportunity to brainstorm with executives on real-life travel and entertainment scenarios during breakout sessions throughout the afternoon.

One executive shared, “As a coach I felt involved and utilized. The students were engaged and participating. As a guest, I was welcomed and informed on the process and steps – well done!”

The Top Gun program was presented by ProSales Seniors and focused on tips and strategies for making the right decisions when travelling or entertaining for business.

“This program gave me tools that I can use throughout my professional career,” a ProSales student commented. “It got me thinking not just about the business side of my professional path, but also about the ethics aspect.”

Implemented in Fall 2013, Top Gun Training takes place at the beginning of each semester and is designed to equip students with the necessary tools to succeed in the marketplace.

“We believe in providing our students with opportunities to operate like real business executives,” noted Dr. Andrea Dixon, Executive Director of Baylor’s Center for Professional Selling. “Our student leaders conducted more than 25 interviews with executives as a foundation for this Top Gun program, and two graduate students, Erick Huntley and AV Jonnabhotla, developed the actual program and interactive exercises. We are proud of the quality that our students bring to their work.”
