BBBD Winners Announced

Baylor’s Center for Professional Selling recently held their Baylor Business Business Development (BBBD) competition, designed to engage students in the pre-call planning and business development steps of the sales process. The competition engaged 63 individual competitors who were required to establish strategies for contacting prospective buyers and initiating contact with these prospective buyers, leaving voicemails and sending emails. Their goal in the process was to obtain a face-to-face call.

“The Baylor Business Development competition gives our professional selling students real-life skill development in key areas of business communication,” said Dr. Andrea Dixon, executive director of the Center for Professional Selling.” Students develop their pre-call plans and craft strategies for connecting with business people. We are grateful for the corporate support that allows us to make these events possible for our students.”

Forty business executives participated on-campus as judges, examining various elements the voice mails and emails. The corporate judging process allows students the opportunity to gain valuable feedback from the Center for Professional Selling’s Corporate Partners.

The BBBD allows Baylor’s Professional Selling Partners to view talent as they prepare to enter the job market, while allowing Baylor students to see how they stack up against their peers in various business situations. Cash prizes are also awarded to top performers.
