Student Feature – Jordan Davis
Many incoming Baylor students are surprised to hear that Waco has a nearly 30% poverty level. Jordan Davis, however, decided to act on that that fact and make a difference in the community. Beginning her freshman year, Jordan partnered with Baylor Urban Missions and joined the Ashton Oaks Kid’s Club. Jordan spent every Wednesday afternoon of her college career playing sports with children and serving as a positive role model – a welcome visitor at the government-funded apartment complex.
As Jordan looks toward graduation, she plans to join a company dedicated to service – one that serves customers, employees and its communities. With a second major in accounting and experience from her summer internship with Rackspace, Jordan looks forward to using the critical thinking and support skills she learned throughout her time in the Professional Selling program.
Over the next few months, Jordan plans to wrap up her time at Ashton Oaks – a tough transition away from her beloved tradition. At the same time, she plans to complete the CPA exam prior to beginning her career.
