Student Feature – Preston Smith
Proactive and intentional are two words that describe Preston Smith well. When a difficult customer was displeased to find Preston – an intern – accompanying the sales rep on a visit, Preston was sent back to the office. Instead of dwelling on the disappointing encounter, Preston took matters into his own hands. He researched the customer’s needs and developed a professional-level playbook. Returning to the customer’s office, Preston presented his findings and ultimately helped gain a significant sale for his company.
Preston is passionate about progress – he always prefers to be moving forward rather than backward. He credits the Professional Selling program with developing his confidence to deal with executives and assisting him in building an invaluable network.
Following graduation, Preston will launch his career with Shaw Industries.
