Baylor Professional Selling students Alicia Boczar, David Shine, Anna Smith and Clayton Whitener represented Baylor at the Ball State Regional Sales Competition on October 15-16, 2015. Senior Alicia Boczar came away with a second-place overall finish out of a field of 39 competitors from 10 universities.

The team was coached by Baylor Professor Chuck Fifield, student coaches Blaire Beene, Jordan Davis and Katherine Sullivan and on-site alumni coach Jeremy Villarreal. Professional Selling students Hunter Essex and Nick Logan served as apprentices for this competition.

Coach Fifield attributes the team success to their intense preparation. “These competitions are a means for students to learn more about what they’ve chosen for a career,” said Fifield. “I think the best educator is experience, and my role as a coach or mentor is to guide them through this experience in a way that is hopefully productive for their skill development.”

The Ball State University Regional Sales Competition was designed to give students the opportunity to develop their sales skills through practical experience. The competitors’ role plays were judged by a panel of corporate judges.
