Baylor’s Center for Professional Selling recently held their Baylor Business Sell-Off (BBSO) competition. The top-finisher this year, Robert McCandlish, also completed the competition at the top spot in 2014. The BBSO is designed to engage students in a realistic sales situation where they meet live with a business executive for a 20-minute sales encounter. Role plays are judged virtually by business executives from around the country, offering students a chance to gain valuable feedback from the Center for Professional Selling’s Corporate Partners.

This year’s competition consisted of 59 individual competitors who met face-to-face with 10 corporate buyers. There was a record-breaking 122 judges who evaluated the field of competitors. This years’ Top Ten finishers included:

1. Robert McCandlish, senior
2. Michael Summers, senior
3. Melanie Wyman, sophomore
4. Meagan Rowell, senior
5. Margaret Newton, sophomore
6. Pres McKissack, senior
7. Lauren Fender , senior
8. Marissa Kelty, junior
9. David Shine, freshman
10. Alisha Pace, junior

The BBSO allows Baylor students to see how they stack up against their peers and allows the center’s Corporate Partners to view Baylor talent as they prepare to enter the job market. In addition, top performers are awarded cash prizes.
