Student Feature – Rob Tarantolo
Since freshman year, senior ProSales major Rob Tarantolo, has volunteered 2-3 times a semester at Mosaic, a local faith-based organization that serves people with intellectual disabilities. As Rob has learned, working at Mosaic is not for the faint of heart.
The very first time Rob volunteered at Mosaic, one of the residents had a stroke. According to Rob, “I was scarred by the instance and had trouble going back.” A Mosaic volunteer sent Rob a video of a Mosaic resident pleading with Rob to please come back. This resident’s plea helped Rob see how memorable his interactions with others can be.
The ability to be memorable and make others feel truly appreciated is especially important in the sales area. Many times, sales professionals have limited time to connect with a potential client. Because of his experiences at Mosaic, Rob knows first-hand the importance of having memorable interactions with others and making them feel valued.
