Alex Ingold, Olivia Offringa and Erin Robason represented Baylor in the Great Northwoods Sales Warm-Up competition hosted by the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire during October 24-25, 2014.

The Sales Warm-Up was comprised of a field of 60 competitors from sales programs around the country. After two rounds of face-to-face role play, the field was narrowed to three finalist positions. After completing the final round of role plays, Erin Robason came out on top taking first place in the competition. “The Great Northwoods Sales Warm-Up allowed me to challenge myself, and exceed my own expectations. GNW allowed me to gain valuable knowledge, skills, and confidence that will carry me further into my professional career,” said Erin Robason, ProSales Junior from Frisco, Texas

Baylor also took top team awards as Baylor’s three competitors placed first, fifth and fourteenth in the field of 60. ProSales senior from Massachusetts, Olivia Offringa, noted that she “enjoyed working with and learning from other students, buyers and judges, the recruiters and corporate sponsors. I left Wisconsin a better sales person thanks to the feedback we received!” Participating in her first-ever sales competition, ProSales junior from Bonham (TX), Alex Ingold, claimed, “I had the privilege of meeting some very talented competitors, selfless coaches and honorable recruiters. I will forever be appreciative for this competition’s contribution to my growth as a professional as I move forward in life.” Student coaches for this competition included senior, Kelsey Mann, and sophomore, Teresa Dean.

Baylor has finished in first or second place in three of the last four years in the Great Northwoods Sales competition. “The Great Northwoods Sales Warm Up is one of my favorite competitions because students get IMMEDIATE feedback which makes a huge difference in their development. It’s one thing for me to give students feedback …but that same feedback from an executive right after a role play creates a sense of urgency for growth and development. I love to see the impact this competition has on our students,” says faculty coach, Dr. Andrea Dixon.

Other participating schools were: Aurora University, Ball State University, Bowling Green State University, Elon University, Florida State University, Illinois State University, Kansas State University, Louisiana State University, North Dakota State University, University of Central Oklahoma, University of Cincinnati, University of Dayton, University of Texas at Dallas, University of Toledo, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, University of Wisconsin-Parkside, University of Wisconsin-Stout, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater
