Student Feature – Alex Dixon
A mosaic of skills and experiences makes Alex Dixon, a senior Accounting, ProSales and Business Fellows triple major from Cincinnati, OH, the individual he is today.
Baylor’s Business Fellows program allows academically talented students to pursue more individualized academic paths. For example, in the summer following his freshman year, Alex traveled to China to study Chinese language and culture and brand management. As a part of the branding course, he participated in a global marketing competition (involving graduate and undergraduate students), and his team was invited to return to China as a finalist later that year.
Another part of Alex’s Baylor experience involved playing on the “Dream Team,” an all-male practice squad that helped to prepare the Lady Bears basketball team for the season. While helping Brittney Griner for the season, Alex served as the president of his fraternity, Pi Kappa Phi. Alex gained great strengths through such a diverse set of Baylor experiences.
“During one semester, I was taking linear algebra, managerial accounting, intermediate Chinese and a dance class at the same time,” said Dixon. “My diverse background makes me mindful, adaptable and disciplined to overcome obstacles in any environment.”
