Student Feature – James Paulsen

James Paulsen, a ProSales senior from Oklahoma City, OK, is adaptable and versatile inside and outside the office. “I found value in my ability to create common ground with professionals and others through my wide range of interests and abilities,” said Paulsen.

Last spring, James’ team won the ProSales Golf Links (PGL) tournament, an event that allows ProSales students to engage with executives while raising money for the Professional Selling Program. “My ability and excitement to engage with business professionals on the golf course will create value in my professional career,” said Paulsen. James’ versatility was evident as he won the 2012 Baylor Top Shot Clay Competition, a charity event to raise money for business school scholarships.

Paulsen understands how his interests in sports and outdoor activities will provide opportunity for relationship-building conversations in Corporate America. James has already experienced the bridge between his passions (golf, outdoors) and his purpose (sales). “I was able to relate and foster relationships with executives during my internship last summer at Occidental Chemical Corporation with these skills,” said Paulsen.
